Max Frank Selected to Lead Watt Communities Southern California Division; Will Oversee Multi-Million Dollar Residential Portfolio
Max Frank has been promoted to Division President of Watt Communities Southern California, a subsidiary of Watt Companies, one of the largest owners, developers and managers of commercial real estate in the United States. In his new role, Max will lead acquisitions, planning, entitlements and construction activities for Watt’s entire Southern California residential portfolio.
Frank brings more than a decade of real estate development experience to his new position. Since joining Watt Companies in 2002 as an intern from the University of Southern California, he has held various posts in both acquisitions and land development, with a focus on urban infill development and adaptive reuse of underutilized industrial and commercial facilities.
“Max is a gifted leader and has been an integral part of the Watt team for over a decade,” said Howard Press, President of Watt Communities. “His depth of expertise in residential development, entrepreneurial spirit and his unique skills as a manager has made him a real asset to our team. We are looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish in his new role leading Watt Communities’ Southern California division.”
Within Watt Communities, Frank has served as Project Manager, Acquisition Manager and most recently, Vice President of Acquisitions, where he sourced and controlled new land opportunities, conducted land feasibility and project underwriting, and directed Watt’s planning and entitlement efforts.

Frank currently serves as a Board Member for the Building Industry Association of Southern California’s Los Angeles-Ventura Chapter and sits on the Alumni Board for the Sol Price School of Policy at the University of Southern California. A California native, Max lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and son.
